Inclusive, Embodied, Empowered Performance Training for Actors, Singers and Musicians

At Thumbprint Studios, we confront challenges, remove blocks, and cultivate the core of your artistic self. We assist artists in establishing strong practices, develop an embodied performance and empower artists to tell important stories from a place of honesty.  We are committed to inclusive, individualized educational practices. Active participation in a creative cooperative learning environment rooted in each individual’s unique needs and perspectives amongst faculty, guest facilitators and artists is our highest priority. Thumbprint Studios holds space for everyone to feel served and supported by our community within the work.

 Core Values

Inclusion: We feel our commitment to inclusion and equity is especially important to highlight right now in our world and in our performance community. Equity in performance starts with equity in performance training. We do not tolerate racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, ageism, or fatphobia in any form. We will hold everyone in our Thumbprint community accountable and ask that you hold us accountable as well.

Empowerment: We want everyone in our community to discover and develop their own individual artistic superpowers! This means encouraging each of our students to make strong choices informed by their own perspectives and lived experiences. The techniques we bring to our students are built specifically to cultivate exploration and imagination. Through these tools, we strive to empower all of our students to be individual, unique and curious artists.

Embodiment: While we use many techniques overall, our approach to performance utilizes holistic psychophysical practices so we can learn to drop into our bodies to truly own our performances. Our practices bring knowledge and awareness of who we are as performers, what our unique and individual bodies can do, and how we can bring specificity and honesty into our performances.
