How do you integrate consent and boundary practice into work that relies on spontaneity and connection (i.e. improvisation, clown, contact improv., devising, viewpoints, Michael Chekhov etc.)? Much of it comes down to preparation. This workshop will cover foundational tools to be thread through the fabric of your work from development/planning, meeting performers/students, to artistic practice. You will learn how to establish a culture of consent and how to seek out each other’s boundaries in order to uphold them from the start, as well as how to handle challenging situations such as changing boundaries in the moment, crossing boundaries, harm repair and moving forward in trust.
